The distinguished senators of the house had tasked the chairman of energy committee Ephraim Maina to summon the cabinet secretary of energy Charles keter and his counter part of petroleum counter part John Munyes.The senator was to deliver a statement and a report where he only tabled a statement and this triggered adebateb,the senators were of the option that the senator had not performed as expected.
The two summoned cabinet secretaries failed to turn up for the summon on grounds not well laid out to the senators.senator Mutual kilonzo junior wants the Nyeri senator to table a report that will trigger a debate to impeach the two cabinet secretaries.
The senators have decided to take this matter with urgency as it touches the immediate livehood of Kenyans and since they represent them the know the agony.They have described some cabinet secretaries as arrogant and defiant to senate summons and urge the speaker to provoke the necessary provisions of constitution to summon them.
Senator Amos wako says that unrest in a country begins when fuel subsidies are tampered with and he gave various examples of countries that have witnessed the same .The senator also wants the summoned cabinet secretaries to face the provisions of the senate and be fined.He is of the view that the government is no longer caring about its citizens and a solution must be found out.
Senator James orengo wants an act of parliament to be enacted that no fuel prices should be enacted without an act of parliament to avoid such hikes in future.
