Another Top High School in Kenya Closed Indefinitely After Fire Incident

Fire outbreaks in our institutions have been rampant in the recent past prompting for an immediate response on the uncooth behaviour by students. Universities together with high schools have been the subject of discussion as far as burning down institution amenities are concerned.

A day after Ofafa Jericho High School was closed for the next three days after a fire incident, another school is on it with the same situation. Sigalame High School in Funyula, Busia has been closed indefinitely after the fourth fire incident after reopening this term. The fire razed the dormitories on Monday night.

Samia sub-county Director of Education Dominic Opee haa ordered students to remain home till investigations are concluded. Police have however restored order after the students chased and injured school guards.

As I wind up, would like to hear your say on the ongoing state of Kenyan schools? Do you think the government is partly responsible for this or its a sole responsibility for the school administration? Comment.
