Reports of the Azimio la Umoja rally that turned chaotic after angry residents were seen throwing stones at Raila Odinga emerged online leading to a panic mood among Kenyans.
According to reports, the incidents occurred minutes after one of the Azimio la Umoja politicians was addressing the residents. Unexpectedly chaos broke out and several people started throwing stones toward the podium where Raila Odinga was standing.
Security personnel was forced to act quickly and made a ring to guard Raila Odinga against the stones that were being thrown. The situation calmed down about ten minutes later.
Cases of members of the public throwing stones and some Boeing politicians have been so rampant across the country. Such cases may lead to violence and loss of lives.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has condemned the incident and called upon members of the public never to do that again since all Kenyans have the right to campaign anywhere in Kenya.
