Today, ODM party leader Hon Raila Odinga led anti-government protests on Mount Kenya for the first time. Raila and his soldiers were in Kiambu county, where he delivered a speech to his supporters. It was during this rally that police threw tear gas at his caravan.
The opposition leader has issued a statement shortly after this happened. Odinga stated on his official Twitter page that the police threw tear gas at his event, but the crowd stood behind him. "Wameturishia teargas pale Kiambu Town nasisi kama Azimio wanainchi wamesimama Kidete. Asanteni." Raila Odinga, Hon.
It is unclear whether Raila Odinga would attend his farewell rally in Githurai. This came after his venue was trashed by unidentified thugs. Raila Odinga's first event will be disrupted by pandemonium. Raila Odinga and his crew will organize demonstrations in Nairobi County on Monday.
