Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been a man under siege since Monday. Many charges have been pressed against him and he has been brought before three different law courts since Monday. His lawyer had lamented the move to take him to Kamiti Maximum Prison because the court had ordered his client to be taken to Gigiri Police station.

He was initially lonely but he was today visited by some politicians like senators Kipchumba Murkomen and Milicent Omanga among others

His sympathizers were also very quick to formulate a team of lawyers who have started the process of saving him from his impending imprisonment. During the day, the legal team made an application at Kahawa Law Courts to ask for the adjournment of the court’s proceedings until Tuesday to enable defence counsel to prepare a proper response to State’s application to detain Gov. Sonko for 30 days pending investigations on matters terrorism. The application was granted by Courts Chief Magistrate Diana Mochache. Sonko will, however, remain in custody until Tuesday next week.
