1. NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK
Nairobi national park is on 7km from Nairobi’s bustling city center and an early morning game drive at this park will give you an opportunity to see four of the big five except for the elephant. In fact, this is an excellent starting point for your Nairobi city tour.
2. The David Sheldrick ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE
The David Sheldrick wildlife trust also known as the elephant orphanage should be your next stop. This orphanage is usually open for visitors everyday for one hour starting from 11am-6pm. Your time here will be spend watching the mischievous baby elephants as they guzzle milk and play in the mud.
3. GIRRAFFE CENTRE
The giraffe center is only a short distance from the elephant orphanage. This center welcomes visitors to handfeed the friendly giraffes on the elevated walkway as they pick food from their palms. The giraffes do not also shy from your kiss.
4. NAIROBI NATIONAL MUSEUM
In the Nairobi national museum, you learn more about the Kenya’s rich history through ancient artefacts, sculptures as well as temporary and permanent exhibitions of contemporary art. The museum art collection is divided into several categories including human evolution, Kenyan people, natural history and cultural heritage.
5. SNAKE PARK
Next to the national museum is the snake park which will be your stop over. This park is the leading research center in the country as well as the rescue center for reptiles and amphibians since 1961.Get to quench yourself with the various snake species like the black mamba, the Egyptian Cobra and the African black python next to lizards, turtles and crocodiles many of which have been abandoned, confiscated from the illegal collection or found injured.
