There have been alot of Congestion in Nairobi which is the capital of Kenya. People always get stuck for hours which is caused by heavy traffic jam. The ongoing construction has caused alot of traffic to pave the way for the process but upon completion the transport system would be easier.
The Express way would be 27 kilometres highway which will connect Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to the East and Nakuru Nairobi highway to the west.
The project is set to ease the traffic congestion in the city which is the main commercial centre for the East African region. During the inspection the CS transport Engineer James Macharia said that the project is 30% complete.
The project is being financed by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) . Despite the project being part of the modernization, many trees have been cleared to create way for the project. This indicates permanent destruction of the environment in the city. We hope there will be process of planting news trees after the project.
The project is set to use ksh 60 billion and each driver will have to pay a toll of between $2 and $3.
