Uganda: Woman Reportedly Commits Suicide After Stillbirth

Patients, doctors and workers of Kawempe National Referral Hospital in Uganda were shocked after one woman committed suicide by jumping from the window of the six floor. According to NTV Uganda news reports, the woman was identified as Alice Babirye and is 33-year-old. According to the doctors reports, Alice has a complication with her deliver. Therefore, she had to deliver her baby by cesarean section. Unfortunately, Alice's baby had already dead in its mother's womb. When the doctor informed Alice that her baby had died, Alice became so depressed and stressed. It is sad to say that Kawempe National Referral is overwhelmed with the number of patients. So the doctor who revealed the sad new to Alice didn't have much time to space with Alice. Once the doctor left Alice, she jumped from the window of six floor. Sadly, Alice died on the spot. The police officers were informed and came to witness this incident. Therefore, they took Alice's body to Kampala Capital City mortuary. Postmortem is yet to be conduct to reveal the real cause of the death. According to reports, Kawempe hospital deliveries at 100 babies everyday that approximately 36,000 babies per year. However, Kamempe National Hospital has only 170 beds for admission of patients. Source:
