Deputy president William Ruto's linked United Democratic Alliance movement Party has won big after they received defectors from Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement ODM party on Thursday.
According to the upcoming party, those who defected from the Orange Democratic Movement ODM party were received by the UDA Secretary General madam Veronica Maina.
Those who defected are from Raila Odinga's former constituency of Kibra in from within the Nairobi county and have said UDA resonates with what they believe in.

This comes at a time when the party has been trying to ensure that they receive more members from across the country through carrying out sensitisation exercises in the country.
According to the party, Membership of the United Democratic Alliance is open to all Kenyans upon application. This applies to all Kenyan citizens in possession of a valid National Identification card or passport, irrespective of gender, race, colour or creed and in accordance with the provisions of the Political Parties Act 2011.
Membership of the UDA party is open to all Kenyans above the age of 18 years, irrespective of tribe or race, who accept its principles, policies and programmes and are prepared to abide by its Constitution and rules.
