Members of the Baringo a county Assembly have been Dispersed after they were almost counting the total number of votes cast during the debate.
As the speaker was about to pose the question on whether they accept the BBI Bill or noy, MCAs were heard wailing as gunshots were heard being fired.
Earlier on, anxiety was witnessed among residents of Kabarnet town in Baringo County as they awaited the outcome of the BBI Constitutional Amendment bill vote by the County Assembly.
Crowds gathered outside the assembly buildings as the MCAs continued with the debate.
The MCAs had earlier engaged in a fistfight over the BBI Bill debate raising the political temperatures in the assembly.
Leaders allied to the Handshake team wanted the debate postponed to allow for public participation but the move was opposed by those allied to the Deputy President William Ruto.
The debate was a show of might between the DP Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
Among those who supported the BBI include KANU and Independent MCAs.
KANU Nominated MCA Betty Birchogo supported the BBI Constitutional Amendment Bill during the debate.
She, however, accused the leadership of the assembly led by Speaker David Kerich of conspiring to deny the people of Baringo a chance to be involved in the document by having it tabled without going through public participation.
Kabarnet Ward MCA Ernest Kibet also rose to support the BBI Constitutional Amendment Bill.
The MCA who was elected on an independent ticket alluded that the Kalenjin Community should not be misled by the same person who misled them during the previous referendum.
