It seems the camp of Deputy President William Ruto is open to Ruto mending his differences with his former brother following the infighting that has been witnessed over the past months.
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika revealed that Ruto’s camp is ready for him to reconcile with President Uhuru Kenyatta if he wants to do so.
According to Kihika, it is only DP Ruto who can assist President Uhuru to get his Mt Kenya back after he was recently humiliated in the recently concluded by-elections in the region.
Kihika, according to Nation said President Uhuru is slowly losing his grip of his Mt Kenya region as many claimed this started after his handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“It is only Dr Ruto who can help him regain the mountain grip and we are ready if he is ready,” said Kihika.
Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang’ata on his part said that President Uhuru should think about doing a handshake with his former brother, Ruto, to salvage his legacy.
The relationship between Uhuru and Ruto has grown sour over time and Kang’ata said Ruto and his team are ready to help the President get back on track as the two leaders will seek to lay a firm foundation that will propel the country into a hub of prosperity before Uhuru’s term comes to an end.
“If he does so, we will be ready to partner with our President and help him rule in peace for the remaining one year and play a pivotal role in assembling for him a retirement legacy since he has none as of now,” said Kang’ata.
