DP Ruto Ally With Over 80% Approval Rating Who Might Be Re-Elected Overwhelmingly In Mt Kenya

The political season is on in Kenya with all eyes on General Election slated for August 9th 2022. Many politicians are fighting for their survival as MCAs, MPs, Governors, Senators and Women Representatives.

The presidential race is also going to be tough with DP William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga seen as the top contenders to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta whose term comes to an end in less than a year to go. Others who have shown interest in the seat are Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi of KANU.

Opinion poll conducted by Mizani Africa, a research firm has shown that Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s close ally from Runyenjes Constituency will be re-elected overwhelming in next years polls. Runyenjes is one of the constituencies in Embu County. Others include Manyataa, Mbeere South and Mbeere North Constituencies.

The seat is held currently by Eric Karemba Muchangi Njiru. He was elected as the Member of Parliament on a Jubilee Party ticket in last General elections that took place on 8th August 2017.Lately he has been overseeing United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party mass registration in his Constituency and Embu County. UDA is associated with Deputy President William Samoei and his hustler movement.The opinion poll conducted by the firm revealed that were elections to be held today, Muchangi Njiru, one of DP Ruto’s diehard and ardent supporters in Mt Kenya will beat her rivals who are running against him in next years elections.

In the poll conducted to know who the residents preferred as their next Mp, Karemba Muchangi emerged as the winner with 82.6% of who participated in the survey supporting his re-election bid.

Muchangi was followed distantly by Stephen Simba and Stephen Murimi Mwalimu. The two garnered only 4.2% and 2.7% respectively. In the poll 10.5% remained undecided on who they will elect as their next legislator.
