On Thursday morning, a 23-year-old woman was found completely burned in her Kitengela home. It was believed that a cheated lover was responsible for the murder.
Heavy smoke coming from Ms. Janet Ndirangu's bedsitter on the fourth floor of Moonlight Plaza, on Deliverance Church Road in the New Valley estate, woke up the nearby residents.
The building's caretaker, Mr. Nicholas Omondi, claimed he had to force entry into the locked home in order to save the woman.
The residence was disorganized, and a six-kilogram gas cylinder was burning under the bed.
"The home was dim and smokey. When I entered, her clothes were piled on top of the body, who was lying on the bed. It was enigmatic, according to Mr. Omondi.
Ms. Ndirangu, who had only been a resident of the building for three months, was characterized by him as a calm woman. She was a loner.
According to Mr. Omondi, there was no commotion on Wednesday night.
The woman's face was deformed, and witnesses who got access to the home told the Nation they believed acid had been used to disfigure it. Under the bed, there were also bloodstains.
