Judiciary Service Commission has been having a rough time as they search for the next Chief Justice. The JSC panel led by Justice Lady Philomena Mwilu has been sitting for long hours while interviewing the contestants.
Justice Lady Martha Koome, Alice Yano, and Priscilla Mbote have been dealt a blow after MP Kaluma's latest message.MP Kaluma was reacting to the letter produced by Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu. Kitui governor had indicated in her letter that it's time for a woman Chief Justice. Karua has equally added that ladies have the required qualifications, competence, and experience.
Honorable Kalume has slammed governor Charity Ngilu when he surfaced with these powerful claims. He has claimed that women were against Philomena Mwilu and cheered up when she was facing charges. Secondly, DCJ Mwilu did not apply for the Chief Justice seat.
Kaluma said"Women cheered as Philomena Mwilu, DCJ. was beaten to submission for no wrong committed. Women lost the chance to produce the first Chief Justice the day Mwilu, DCJ withheld her application!"
JSC has already interview about four candidates. The CJ position remained vacant after the retirement of former Chief Justice Honorable David Maraga.
