Deputy president William Ruto has taken to social media this evening to mourn following the unfortunate death of a prominent kenyan sportsperson who passed on several hours ago.
Agnes Tirop, a prominent kenyan sportsperson who has represented Kenya in high profile international athletics competitions was found dead with several stab wounds.
In a social media message, the deputy president said that he was deeply saddened by the development and eulogized her as an athlete who was hardworking focused and very resilient.
"I am deeply saddened by the loss of our world record star Agnes Tirop, a gifted and indefatigable long-distance athlete who kept our flag flying globally. She was hardworking, focussed and resilient," part of his message read.
Kenyans on the other hand, joined the second in command in further eulogizing the fallen hero with many expressing their anger with the manner of her death.
Victor: My condolences to the family and friends. We have lost such a dedicated soul who dedicated herself tirelessly just to represent our country locally and global level. May her soul rest in peace!
