Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi is in self isolation after testing positive of covid 19. The Meru county chief executive officer in charge of health Misheck Mutuma has confirmed on the health of the governor.
Governor Murungi is among the top leaders who have already received the vaccine for covid 19. The governor is said to have received the vaccine at the Meru county Teaching and Referral Hospital on March 8th.
The governor testing positive of the virus days after getting the vaccine has put doubt to many on the efficiency of the vaccine. Scientist have insisted that the vaccine is effective but some countries have already stopped the vaccination using the Astrazeneca vaccine.
Medics from the firm however maintain that the vaccine is strong and can fight the virus.
Many Kenyans treat the vaccine with suspicion lest they risk their lives. The Kenyan government has made the vaccination voluntary as opposed to mandatory.
Many will be hoping to see how the Meru governor's health condition gets on and why he could still conduct the virus despite having received the vaccine.
Do you have suspicion on the Astrazeneca vaccine?
