Machakos Senatorial by-elections are scheduled for March 18 and different players have shown interest in the seat as the battle for Ukambani supremacy is set to take the stage.
United Democratic Alliance ( UDA) chairman Johnstone Muthama is campaigning for the party's aspirant Kengele who will face Kavindu Muthama and and Maendeleo Chapchap Katuku.
The former Machakos senator is known for his controversies and in a resurfaced video, Muthama is captured administering an oath to UDA's aspirant in Machakos senatorial by election.
The seat was left vacant after the death of then-Senator Boniface Kabaka.
This is a huge task for Kalonzo Musyoka who needs to protect his region and losing to Ruto's man will be a huge blow as his chances for having an impact in 2022 will be injured.
On the other hand a win , a win for Kengele is a win for Ruto as he will be assured of garnering some votes from the region in next year's general election.
