Mathira Member of Parliament Hon Rigathi Gachagua have come out today to defend the deputy president from the onslaught of his opponents. This is after they inquire why the second in command did not take development projects in Ukambani for last nine years he has been in government.
Speaking during a morning show, the legislator stated that the current government is not for William Ruto but for Uhuru Kenyatta. Therefore, it is President Kenyatta who should be blamed for not taking project in the region. He also linked this to the government of Kibaki where Kalonzo was the Deputy but no projects were constructed in the region.
His statement left majority of people confused. They ask themselves why the allies of the Deputy President would want to distance themselves when the government is subjected to criticisms and take credit when there is a good development plan. They inform him to stop lying to Kenyans because the Deputy is part of president.
The legislator went ahead and informed the citizens that they should wait for the DP to take the mantle first then see numerous development project across the country because currently he is not the signatory for the project.
