Kiambu county is one of the counties whose politics is paid much attention to across the whole country moreso at this time when Kenya is just one year to the 2022 general elections.
The current governor of Kiambu county is Dr. James Nyoro who assumed office after the successful impeachment of Ferdinand Waititu by the county assembly over corruption and other related allegations.

However, James Nyoro could find it hard retaining his seat in the next general elections considering the prospective candidates eyeing to uproot him.
William Kabogo Gitau, the first governor of Kiambu county is speculated to be organising for a major political comeback to reclaim his seat which he lost to Ferdinand Waititu in the last general elections.
His recent activities on the ground could easily suggest that he is actually leaving no stone unturned in the race to succeed Nyoro.

Kabogo's track record when he was the Kiambu county governor could give him a greater advantage over his opponents in the race.
Since the last general elections, William Kabogo has been spending most of his time with the electorate on the ground in several parts of Kiambu county.
