WIfe to the National Unity Platform party leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has flown the country amid fear of the rumors that the supporters of the opposition are staging protests against the 2021 presidential results.

Reports reaching our desks is that the NUP ex-presidential candidate's wife left the country today to the United States through the Qatar route using Qatar Airways.

It is not yet clear why the pop star's wife Barbie Itungo has left Uganda though rumours are that she might have left amid the fear that the opposition supporters have plans to stage protests against election results. Previous publication by the Daily Monitor indicated that opposition supporters were spreading news warning people that Uganda will be closing on 3rd of Feb to 7th of the same month.

Bobi Wine lost to President Museveni who garnered 6 million votes thereby maintaining his seat for six terms consecutively. But the musician turned politician has failed to accept the results claiming that they were marred with irregularities and cheating.

He has since then maintained that he will be using all sorts of ways to remove President Museveni from the seat though he argued that he will be using legal, and non-violent means to do so.

On Monday, Bobi WIne's party filed a petition in court that would challenge Museveni's lead in the 2021 General Elections.
