Another Famous UDA Politician Barred By Court From Seeking Senatorial Seat

Emerging report indicates that High Court has barred the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from clearing former Kiambu County County Executive Committee Member Hon Karungo Wa Thang'wa’s as a Senatorial candidate in the August polls.

According to the High Court, Hon Karungo wa Thang'wa who is a strong supporter of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will only be cleared to contest for any elective seats come August once a petition challenging his suitability to hold office is heard and determined.

“The IEBC is hereby prohibited from clearing Hon Paul Karungo Thang’wa to vie as a candidate for any elective office at the 9th August, 2022 General Election,” Justice Antony Mrima of High Court ruled.

It's indicated that Mr Kevin Njui Wangari had filed the petition seeking court to block Hon Thang'wa from seeking any elective following His impeachment from office while serving as Kiambu’s Youth Affairs CEC.

Earlier, there was a report that all impeached leaders will not be allowed to seek any elective seat in the coming general election. This affected former Nairobi Governer Hon Mike Sonko and Hon Ferdinand Waititu who are seeking gubernatorial seats.
