Incidents of suicide across the country have been on the rise with the government urging Kenyans to seek help whenever they feel overwhelmed.
The police have especially been hard hit by this calamity that has taken so many officer's lives across the country over the past few months.
The Ministry of Interior set up counselors across the many police stations in the country to help police officers with mental health problems.
This morning, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from the Eldoret Central Police Station, an officer attached there is said to have hanged himself till death.
The police officer, identified as Police Constable Kiplagat Koskei is said to have committed suicide in his home after founding out that his estranged wife has been cheating on him.
The incident is said to have taken place at Simat Village that is found in Kapsaret Sub-County, of Uasin Gishu County.
Eldoret West Police Boss, Mr. Edward Masibo confirmed the incident terming it unfortunate that a hard working officer had been lost to suicide.
According to some of the neighbours of the police officer, the deceased has for the past few weeks been accusing his wife of infidelity which would often lead to fist between the two.
"The police officer has been having a misunderstanding with his estranged wife for a very long time which would often lead to a fistfight between them. We did not know it would escalate to the man committing suicide," One of the Nyumba Kumi members in the area revealed.
