Speaking to journalists at his Sacho residence, the Kenya African National Union (KANU) party chairman disclosed that he will officially start his candidacy for the top seat in 2022 ahead of the election.
Senator Moi indicated that he will not relent in his pursuit of the country's highest office, which his late father held for 24 years during KANU.
The KANU party leader urged members of his community to support his candidacy, claiming that he will be one of the two leading candidates for State House in 2022.
Moi persuaded his tribesmen that his candidacy was a win for them, vowing to accept loss calmly if he was not elected as President Uhuru Kenyatta's successor.
Gideon Moi is set to battle with DP Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga for the highest position in government in the 2022 general elections.
