Kenya is set to have general presidential elections less than a year from now. With time not on their side, political parties have begun formulating alliances in preparation for the election.

The latest party to put its house in order is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The party had kept supporters in the dark as it had not revealed the flagbearer.

The ODM elections board has come out clear on this issue, announcing a list of people who will compete for the ODM presidential ticket. According to a local news outlet, Raila Odinga, Kakamega Wycliffe Oparanya, and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho are set to battle for the ticket.

Raila has been recently engaged on president Uhuru's side as they topple the campaign for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI). However, the party recently revealed that it will formulate an alliance that will shake the nation ahead of the election following allegations that the BBI and handshake are in limbo.
