Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati Suggestion in Bid to Reduce Fuel Cost

Following a massive outrage sparked by the recent hike, pressure is rising on the government to decrease fuel costs, with lawmakers supporting calls for an immediate review.

EPRA increased the cost of super petrol, kerosene, and diesel to Ksh134.7, Ksh108, and Ksh115.6 per liter. This has made MP Dagoretti North Simba Arati, make a step and petition the government to suspend VAT in order to reduce fuel prices. Arati added that suspension of VAT on fuel prices will provide a way to revise the formula used to set up the prices.

The MP added he had talks with his people who mostly rely on kerosene and it's a worrying situation for them. The second in command William Ruto and Raila Odinga are among the leaders who have condemned the fuel price increase and they said actions must be taken to reduce the cost. How has fuel cost increase affected you and should VAT tax on fuel products be suspended? kindly comment, share, and follow.
