Lawyers representing the six police officers accused in the murder of the two Embu brothers has revealed that their clients are sick with Covid19 with one critically I'll. While speaking with the press today, attorney Cliff Ombeta who is among the nine lawyers announced their withdrawal from the case citing state manipulation. Ombeta alleged that their clients failed to appear for plea due to illness.
".. One of the accused is critically I'll and cannot be able to appear in court, he was diagnosed with Covid and it is clear that he has been together with the other accused who also claim to have Covid19 signs..." Ombeta revealed.
He further alleged that their withdrawal from the case because the court refused to acknowledge that their clients were sick and unable to come to court. He faulted the state for asking the suspects to drop their lawyers of their choices and waiting for government allocated attorneys.
