Two police officers have been confirmed dead while three others have been badly injured after their vehicle was hit by an explosive device along the Garissa Dadaab road.

Confirming the incident,Garissa county police commander Thomas Ngeiywa revealed that the police officers were on their way to Garissa at the time of the incident which occurred at around 11am.

The Garissa police boss has also added that the number of casualties may rise as he revealed that some officers went missing after the incident.He has since said that more security officers have been deployed in the region to flash the terrorists which are suspected to be linked to Al Shabaab group.
Garissa county and the North eastern part of Kenya have continuously faced insecurity challenges from the Al shabaab group which is have their bases in neighbouring Somalia.Security officers have however been deployed in the areas to maintain security.
