The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior Fred Matiang'i has found himself in hot soup after more than 90 Members of Parliament signed a petition to impeach him. In a paper doing rounds in social media platforms, those who signed a petition to dismiss him are lawmakers allied to the Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
His close ally and Member of Parliament for Borabu Hon. Ben Momamnyi has come out to defend Dr. Fred Matiang'i saying the no-nonsense member of the Cabinet is going nowhere. He said Fred Matiangi is here to stay and any motion to impeach him will be of no use.
He described Matiang'i as the most hard-working CS and warned that they will resist the politics of witch hunt and blackmail.
"We shall resist politics of witch-hunt and blackmail. CS Fred Matiang'i is here to stay. This sponsored motion will die a natural death. You can't fight one of the most honest and hard-working ministers just because of retrogressive politics. We're firm and ready." He tweeted.
Hon Ben Momanyi is one of the MPs who was elected through Wiper tickets in the Gusii region. He is a big fan of Matiang'i because they come from the same region.
Deputy President close allies have been criticizing the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior for quite some time. This is because the second in command and the super CS have not been reading in the same script especially during the second half of the Jubilee administration.
