To curb the surge of Covid-19, President Kenyatta moved to suspend all sporting activities in the country until further notice. He also suspended face-to-face learning in universities and other tertiary institutions.
This comes as a huge blow to university students who just had resumed studies from the earlier suspension last year. The only people exempted from the suspension are final year candidates sitting their exams and medical students. There will, however, be an advantage to the institutions that had already kicked off online classes as the suspension will not affect the delivery of education that much.
The counties of Kiambu, Nairobi, Nakuru, Kajiado, and Machakos have also been locked down seeing that they are the most affected areas in the whole nation. In addition, the President ordered for the curfew to start from 8pm upto 4am in the above named counties with the rest of the country from 10pm to 4am.
All meetings including congregational meetings have also been suspended until further notice. However, international travels shall remain the same with placed guidelines to be observed.
