Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday camped in his Mt Kenya backyard where he attended his Homecoming Thanksgiving ceremony. DP Rigathi Gachagua was accompanied by his close allies from the Mt Kenya region, especially from the United Democratic Alliance party.
While addressing the congregation, Buuri constituency Member of Parliament Hon Rindikiiri Mugambi revealed that they are waiting for the former Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Hon Peter Munya to dump Raila Odinga in favor of Kenya Kwanza.
The vocal lawmaker who hails from the Meru county said that it will be wise if the Mt Kenya region unit and rally behind Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua going into the future. He said that the current leader of the Mt Kenya region is DP Gachagua.
He also thanked the former Governor of Meru county Kiraitu Murungi for abandoning the Azimio la Umoja and deciding to work with President William Ruto in his Kenya Kwanza government. The Mbus party leader decided to join President Ruto's camp during his trip to Tharaka Nithi county.
Since losing the August 9th polls, former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has been a silent man. He has not appeared in the public for a long time and no one knows his political stance since he is not present in Azimio politics.
