The Kenya Meteorological Department through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is mandated to provide meteorological and climatological services throughout the country.They maintain an efficient telecommunications system for rapid collection and dissemination of meteorological information required for national and international use in accordance to the World Meteorological Organization ( WMO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation Procedures.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has released a circular to show the weather distribution for the month of October.A report published on September 30 has provided the weather outlook for the month of October.The outlook of October indicates that the western part of the country is likely to experience near to above average rainfall while the eastern Kenya is likely to experience depressed rainfall.Most parts of the country will receive heavy rainfalls from the third week of October to the first week of November.

The weather forecast for October 2020.
The forecast indicates that some part of the Highlands of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Southern and Central Rift Valley and North Western Kenya are likely to experience near and average rainfall with a tendency to above average.The rest of the country will experience below average rainfall.

The following areas to experience occasional showers and Thunderstorms throughout the month.The total rainfall amounts are likely to be near to above the long term average amounts for October.
1.The Highlands West Of The Rift Valley.
Trans Nzoia, Kericho, Bomet, Nandi, Uasin Gishu , Elgeyo Marakwet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Kisii, Nyamira.
2.The Lake Victoria Basin.
Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Siaya, Busia.
3.Southern And Central Rift Valley.
Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Baringo and Western Laikipia.
4.Highlands East of the Rift Valley.
Nairobi, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Parts of Muranga and Nyeri.
5.North Western Kenya.
Turkana, West Pokot, Parts of Samburu and Marsabit.
The following areas are likely to experience Occasional rainfalls.The expected total rainfall amounts are likely to be below the long term average amounts for October.
1.Highlands of the East of the Rift Valley.
Kirinyaga, parts of Nyeri, parts of Muranga, Embu, Meru and Tharaka Nithi.
2.The Coastal Strip.
Lamu, Kilifi, Kwale and Tana River.
3.South Eastern Lowlands.
Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, and Taita Taveta.
