Earlier on this morning, a local newspaper published a story of an Ex Kenya Defense Forces officer who was dismissed from his work a few years back.

The story went on to allege that the officer was arrested and detained at the Mazingira Complex Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters found along Kiambu Road.
This afternoon, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the DCI have denied the reports that the officer was ever detained in their facility.
They have also called out the author of the story who they accuse of failing to do due diligence while writing her story as she did not seek a clarification from the Directorate's Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Unit.
Here is part of the statement from the DCI, "We wish to state for the record that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations has never and does not run a remand facility at its headquarters in Kiambu or at any other facility operated by the DCI or the Police across the country. Remand facilities are run as well as managed by the State Department for Correctional Services."
