Tension is still culpable at Thika air base after the barracks was attacked leading to the loss of deadly weapons in the facility. The incident was reported to the superior officers commanding the base the guns assigned to officers went missing where it had been safely kept.
According to omgvoice.com digital media platform, the suspect is believed to have attacked the 12 Engineer Battalion at Thika after accessing the amour storage by breaking through a steel glass window pane. Questions however have arisen on where the sentry officers were located when the theft was carried out as nobody could clearly explain the incident.
Investigors managed to profile the suspects and arrived on a rogue officer who was earlier in the day escorted out of the barracks after being suspended from the force. Efforts were being made by a joint contingent of detectives and military police to trace the weapons and apprehend the suspect involved.
