Kenyan Arrested In A Neighbouring Country Over Bomb Attack Claiming 10 Lives

A Kenyan suspect is being held over the attack on a church in North Kivu in DRC that left 10 people Dead on Sunday January 15th, 2023. Congolese military spokesperson Antony Mualushayi revealed that the 'terrist act' happened in a Pentecostal church in North Kivu province's Kasindi, a town on border with Uganda.

In the attack, about 39 people were injured according to provisional figures from the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC). Mualushayi revealed that after initial investigations at the scene of the tragedy, a Kenyan whose identity was not revealed was arrested having linked to planning of the attack now associated with the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

Besides, DRC's communicants ministry confirmed through social media that the attack was apparently carried out (ADF) which the Islamic state group claims as its affiliate in central Africa. Initially, ADF has been accused of several attacks against Congolese civilians and even planted bomb in towns in North Kivu in the past.
