Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) successfully detonated a deadly explosive device that suspected al-Shabaab militants had planted on Kenyan soil, targeting to inflict the military with pain.
KDF reportedly used the non-linear junction detector or an NLJD to uncover the explosive device the militants had planted on the road.
For starters, a non-linear junction detector is an indispensable tool for the quick and reliable detection of devices containing semiconductor components.
It can be used for counter-surveillance search works on-premises as well as for the location of explosive devices outdoors.

The recovery and detonating of the deadly explosive comes a few weeks after one KDF soldier died and 4 others sustained injuries in Lamu after their vehicle ran over an IED that al-Shabaab planted on their road.
