In a move that has seen the men in uniform win big, the National Assembly has passed into law the Military Veterans Bill of 2022.
The bill will see families of serving and retired Kenya Defence Forces officers receive scholarship opportunities though creation of an educational fund.
Children of soldiers who lose their lives in and out of the service are expected to benefit from the programme.
The dependants of KDF Soldiers Will receive also receive business advice from the government and the government will also seek placement for those seeking employment.
Additionally the government will establish retirement homes for service personnels who have retired from the force with various services offered in the retirement homes.
"The Defence Council shall establish a retirement home, to be known as the Defence Forces Retirement Home, to provide residential and related services to military veterans." Part of the bill read.
