RIP: Kenyan Suspect Arrested in DRC After Terror Attack Left Several People Dead in Church

Reports reaching our news desk this Sunday, 15 January 2023, is that several people have died in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after suspected terrorists detonated a bomb inside a church.

At least five people died and 15 others were injured in a bomb attack during a Sunday service at a Protestant church in the eastern DRC.

DRC Forces spokesman Antony Mualushayi said the attack happened in the city of Kasindi, on the border with Uganda, when believers were in the church carrying on with their normal Sunday services.

He noted that while no terror group had claimed the attack yet, but they suspected that Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terror group which has been wreaking havoc along the border of DRC and Uganda to be responsible.

“Despite the security measures put in place, the first indications show that it is the ADF which is behind this bomb attack," said the spokesperson are reported by Reuters.

Arresting of a Kenyan suspect

Even though though the military and the police had not determined the real attackers, it was established that one suspect said to be a Kenyans had been arrested.

Mualushayi said that one Kenyan suspect had been arrested was helping the investigating agencies to piece together pieces of evidence.

While the military spoksespeon said at least five people died, other eyewtienes said they saw several bodies, more than 10.

"I just came back from the scene, where I saw the bodies of children on the ground,” Alain Kitsa, a Kasindi resident, said, describing the atmosphere in the town as tense
