Kenya is grateful to the German Air Force. This is after the European nation military promptly released two fighter jets to intervene on a Kenya Airways flight that was flying over its airspace. This was necessitated after the plane developed malfunction midair as it was heading to Netherlands.
Boeing 787-8 plane (Dreamliner) which is owned by Kenya airways lost communication with authorities on the ground while flying over German. A plane is required to maintain contact with technicians on the ground as a safety measure. The pilots are also given directions on the routes to follow and warning in case of high altitude, turbulence or any other danger.
After the loss of communication, German released two Eurofighter aircraft to investigate. They found out the plane had developed malfunction. They guided the plane from Landshut to Frankfurt. The plane landed safely in Amsterdam 30 minutes later. KQ through official statement have said that there is no need for their customers to panic. While acknowledging the incident, they said it is a common occurrence in the aviation industry.
