News just in indicates that the Defence Minister Abdulkadir Mohammed Nur and the Chief of National Army, General Odawa Yusuf have today Saturday 26th November 2022 arrived in Kismayo town, Jubaland State in Somalia.
The two powerful leaders are expected to meet with region's leadership and Somalia National Army officials to discuss military operations against the Al Shabaab militia group that has continued their operations in the area.
"The Defence Minister Abdulkadir Mohammed Nur and the Chief of National Army, Gen. Odawa Yusuf have on Saturday afternoon arrived in Kismayo town of Somalia’s Jubbaland State where they will meet with region’s leadership and SNA officials to discuss military operations against terrorists." Somalia National TV wrote.
The visit by the two leaders comes as the Somali Army with its partners have intensified operations to crack down on the armed terrorists.
Yesterday, the army repulsed an attack on a military base in Qaayib Village in Galgaduud in Somalia.
The attack by the militant group comes only days after a lone gun man opened fire on a KDF military base in Southern Somalia Killing 3 KDF Soldiers.
