The Kenya Defence Force is one of the best military in Africa. The KDF are involved in a peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to that, the Kenyan military as part of the African Union Mission in Somalia is involved in the fight against Al Shabaab.
Here at home President Uhuru Kenyatta has put faith in the military to effectively and efficiently complete government projects. A military man by the name Major General Mohammed Badi is the head of the Nairobi Metropolitan Service and the KDF is also involved in the management of the Kenya Meat Commission.
This shows that such military officers are well trained in not only battlefield management but also civilian matters. In Kenya, KDF officers are trained at the Kenya National Defence College. Recently, officers from the college visited Bangladesh and met with the country's Foreign Secretary.
This is according to a social media post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh that read, "An armed delegation of the Kenya National Defence College visited the Foreign Affairs Ministry as part of their study tour to Bangladesh. They met Foreign Secretary Ambassador Masud Bin Momen and had interactive session with Ambassador Mashfee Binte Shams who briefed them about Bangladesh Kenya relations."
