The Kenya Defense Force (KDF) has dismissed a mass recruitment advertisement circulating on social media.
In a statement on Friday, November 4, the KDF flagged the poster as coming from the Ministry of Defence. The military revealed that the image was of a recruitment exercise that was carried out in 2021.
"The general public has come to the attention of a fake Kenya Defense Force (KDF) recruitment advertisement that is spreading on social media," KDF said.
The advertisement called for graduates to fill various posts: General Service Officers (GSO), Cadets, professional officers, General Duty Recruits, Servicemen/women, and Defense Force Constables.
The ad outlined the roles and responsibilities of each position, warning officials against bribing officials.
KDF clarified that mass recruitment advertisements are released through mainstream media.
"Please know that the Kenya Defense Force is not recruiting and you have been told that the KDF recruitment has been announced through the media."
"We urge members of the public to ignore such warnings," added the statement.
