According to the news reaching our desks this morning, 6th August 2022, a total of five security police officers and agents have been wounded in a suspected Al-Shabaab attack in Mandera county, the notorious gang allegedly attacked the militants while they were on patrol in the southern part of the county.
The report filed at the nearest police station, Elwak Police Station stated as, ''It happened today (Thursday) at Bamba Ola stretch along the B9 road between Wargadud and Elwak that a joint patrol security team was sprayed with bullets by suspected Shabaab militants,”
Reliable sources indicate that one victims suffered a gunshot injury in his forehead area, fortunately, he received medication in the nearby hospital, the other victims suffered injuries as they jumped out of their vehicles to fight the attackers.The Elwak Police Station vehicle registration number GKB 825, a Toyota Land Cruiser was also damaged after being sprayed with bullets.
