Russia Intensifies Attack As First Ukrainian City Falls (Photos)

It is past one week ever since Russia invaded Ukraine on grounds of mistrust. Well, the latest news coming in, according to the British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) is that the first major city of Ukraine has suffered the wrath of Russian mighty military forces. An American citizen who has been staying in Kherson city says several buildings have caught fire and collapsed. The American man says he is pleading with the U.S senator to send some aid to the city. In a nutshell, Russian troops have taken control of Kherson, a key city in Ukraine. Kyiv,Ukraine's capital is still under the control of the government, although loud bomb explosions have been heard.

Kherson the fallen city has a population of 280,000 people. Given it is situated near the Dnieper river, it gives the enemy a dangerous control of canals supplying water to the city. BBC reports indicate that Russian forces have blocked the supply of electricity, water and other amenities to the city creating untold suffering to the locals.
