The Uganda defense forces are a decorated army in the East African region. Together with the Kenya defence forces the armies continue to peace mission within the Democratic republic of Congo. The UPDF have continued to keep Uganda safe from rebels who oftenly cross the border due to its proximity to congo and destabilize the country. 
Yesterday armed rebels belonging to the ADF crossed the border to Uganda where they were a section were killed after engaging the Uganda police in a heavy shootout. According to police report released by the current spokesperson Felix kulagiywe out of the between 30-40 armed rebels, 11 were killed on the spot and that no police were killed in the fight.
The group were ambushed after Ugandan intelligence got a report about their presence in the Ntoroko district area. Their mission remain unknown and the forces are still in hot pursuit of those who escaped.
