According to the Times of Israel, schools in the country are set to open on 1 September, 2021. This is despite Israel experiencing a very high number of COVID-19 positive cases. Israel's health ministry recently announced that by the evening of 31 August 2021, the country had a total of 83,470 active COVID-19 positive cases.
Today, Avichay Adraee a Leutenant Colonel in the Israel Defense Force posted photos on one of his social media accounts showing Israeli soldiers from different branches taking their children back to school.
The photos were then followed by a statement that read, "Schools opened today in Israel with more than two million students and despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We wish our students a successful school year, good health and security from our soldiers, officers and leaders. Those who mobilize all their capabilities for their future to live in peace and security on their land."
Well let's hope that the schools will provide a safe environment where the children can learn without contracting the COVID-19 virus.
