The army commandos led by 2nd Brigade Commander, Brigadier Assava Peter on Monday led a multi-agency security team in digging of a tunnel along Laikipia Nature Conservancy road that will run from Wangwanchi to Kamwenje in the vast county.

Bandits have in the past used the road that links Ol Moran, Kamwenje and Kinamba in thee transport of the cattle that they had stolen from the locals.

By digging the trench that will be wide and deep enough to deter any animals from crossing from one region to the other, the officers will prevent any further clashes in the future.

The animals are also led through this road to graze in the neighboring farms where locals have planted their precious crops across the county and thanks to this trench, this will be a thing of the past.

Mrs. Leah Ngaru who is the Kinamba Chief, welcomed the move and urged the 12 Engineers brigade of the Kenya Defense Forces to hurry up as cases of theft of cattle in the past have been high.
