M23 is a rebel military group based in eastern areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, lead by Colonel Sultani Makenga as the military chief.
The movement was formed in 2012 claiming to defend the interests of Congolese Tutsis, a group sharing the ethnicity of Rwanda's President Paul Kagame, against Hutu militias.
Following the M23 radical reactions on humanity to the people of Congo, killing and displacing people several East African nations under the command of their heads of state have sent their military personnel to restore peace in the region.
The deployment of KDF contingents, tas brought in a reaction with President Museveni's son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba causing an online buzz after he started the Kenya Defence Forces mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to general Muhoozi, no one should mock the M23 rebels even though they have caused insecurity. Muhoozi said that he had been told that some people.
(indirectly referring to the KDF threat in which they promised to stop the rebels from taking any more territories in Congo) treat just one day. He said that the M23 will withdraw for peace if they are convinced.
"Nobody should mock our brothers in M23, I heard some people saying that they can defeat them in a day. Okay. That's what Obote used to say about NRA in Luweero. When we convince them to withdraw for peace. They shall do it because they are serious partners for peace in DRC." Muhoozi said.
Leave your comment on this statement, do you think Muhoozi is right when he urges the people not to mock the M23 rebels who have threatened the lives of the people?
