The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has had a major breakthrough after its special elite unit managed to arrest two notorious kidnappers who had been terrorizing children living in the outskirts of Nairobi city.
According to the DCI report, the two identified as Ezekiel Nyamawi Nyakundi and James Bundi Mabeya were flashed out of their hideout in Mashimoni area within the larger Mathare area after one of them had allegedly kidnapped a 6-year-old child within the Pipeline estate.
The breakthrough began when the 6-year-old identified as Collins Orina was abducted while in a church compound where he accompanied his mother Regina Bayani for a church service last Saturday.
The young boy was lured together with his friend with a promise to buy each of them a plate of chips. However, things took a new turn after one of the kidnappers quickly vanished with Orina.
On realizing that her firstborn son was missing, the distressed mother quickly reported a missing child at Embakasi police station.
The DCI special service unit swiftly swung into action and after a tireless search was able to waylay the two notorious suspects in the Mashimoni area with Orina reunited with his mother.
DCI advises parents and guardians to be extra careful and ensure they know the whereabouts of their loved ones every moment.
