Aden Duale toured the naval headquarters in Mtongwe to assess the capability of their operations. He was received by the commander of Kenya Navy major general Jimson Longiro Mutai. He share to social media saying that the team showed their skills and modern test equipment that included special operations, warships and dive boats reassuring of the safety of our waters.
However, Aden Duale said that Kenya Navy is one of the services naval of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) that protects our borders against waterborne aggression and plays an integral role in guarding the blue economy. In addition, he quoted the words of president Theodore Roosevelt, 'A good Navy is not a provocation to war. It is the surest guaranty of peace'. He therefore admitted that the peace is such as the one in the white of our national flag and the Kenya Navy uniform. However, Kenya Navy has two major bases for its fleet with it being headquartered in Mtongwe base in Mombasa and Manda Bay (part of Lamu Archipelago) being the second naval base. The navy also operates naval stations in Shimoni, Msambweni, Malindi and Kilifi.
