In recent months, several villages in Turkana, Samburu, Baringo, West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet have been attacked by bandits frequently, leading to the loss of lives and property and other aspects of social life.
The banditry issue is now becoming a disaster in Kenya and the government has to basically stand firmly and get all the officers out of the barracks so that they can go and fight for the poor people who are living in fear of being killed anytime in Turkana County and other affected areas. The ongoing insecurities in North Rift termed acts of terror and government has vowed to crush the criminals, reacquire illegally owned arms and curb the insecurity.
According to news update we have just received with us, the government has promised to beef up security in the area and launch operations to flush out all the bandits. According to reports from a reliable source, the government through Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has given 24 hours to the people living in specific bandit-infested areas to evacuate as it prepares to flush out hundreds of bandits hiding in rugged terrain.
The Kenya Defence Forces KDF are set to launch a deadly operation that's why the residents are ordered to vacate the areas so that they cannot be injured during the operation. This is a huge blow for the bandits as they’re going to face war like never before as no other time residents in the bandit-stricken ares have ever been ordered to vacate.
